Communication Friendly 2-4's

We are pleased that in February 2022, our setting has achieved accredited communication friendly 2-4s status. The staff are trained to raise the profile of speech, language and communication, and to embed simple, effective improvement strategies.

Moat Pre-school provides a classroom for our 2,3,& 4 year old children.

We believe that learning should be fun for all young children and offer a child centred approach, teaching through play and example.

The children are encouraged to develop their creativity, individuality and self-confidence in both the indoor and outdoor environments.

Activities are based on the early years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum framework and are in line with OFSTED guidance.

Through a range of activities we aim to promote the children’s personal, social and emotional development, communication and language, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding of the world and expressive arts and design.

We regularly change our selection of toys and equipment to provide varied stimuli.

We want your child to feel safe and secure in the Pre-school so they will have a key person to support this.

We also have a large, safe and secure outdoor area. The Pre-school is the place where the valuable foundations of learning are established and where children are prepared for entry into Reception and full time schooling. The children take part in a range of activities which will be carefully planned to ensure that learning takes place through natural play and structured activities.

Our Pre-school provides a welcoming, safe and stimulating learning environment and we aim to foster links between Pre-school and home to optimise the educational opportunities and outcomes for all of our children.

Orgainisation of Sessions

Children can attend Moat Pre-school for 5 (x 3 hour) sessions per week during school term time only.

Please note children may not attend a morning and afternoon session on the same day.

For children to attend the afternoon (B) session their child will be 2 years old and turning 3 within the current academic year.

Session A will be for Pre School aged children. These will  be 3 years old and turning 4 within the current academic year.
