Proposal to Amalgamate Robinswood and Moat: Consultation Update

Following the announcement of the proposal to amalgamate Robinswood and Moat Primary Academies, the consultation meetings and the follow-up communications, we extend our thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts and raised valuable questions.

As part of this proposal, we are planning to extend the age range of children we support at Robinswood Primary Academy, offering places to children in the nursery from the age of 2 upwards, instead of the current age of 3 upwards. This means that Robinswood would offer education to children aged 2-11. This is to align with the current Moat Primary nursery, which currently offers places for children aged 2-11.

This proposed change reflects our commitment to providing outstanding early years education and ensuring a seamless transition into primary education. Key benefits of this proposal include:

  • Enhanced Early Years provision: High-quality care and education for 2-year-olds in a safe, nurturing environment that fosters development and school readiness.
  • Continuity of learning: A consistent educational experience that supports children’s growth from their earliest years through to the end of primary school.
  • Support for families: Flexible and accessible early years places to better meet the needs of our community.

We believe this change will greatly benefit both our children and families by laying strong foundations for learning and development.

As part of this process, we are engaging in a formal consultation period and invite you to share your views. The consultation will run from 12:00pm 14 January 2025 to 12:00pm, 04 February 2025. During this time, we welcome feedback from parents, carers, and the wider community.
